⁴⁸ But the one who did not know and did things deserving blows will be given a light beating.^[a] And from everyone to whom much has been given, much will be demanded, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will ask him for even more.

⁴⁹ “I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish that it had been kindled already! ⁵⁰ But I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how I am distressed until it is accomplished!
